"Im Schilf" is a stage-like scenery of a non existing place, first build for the exhibition "Pond Situation/ Common Waters" in 2023.
Build behind a doorstep, the diorama reminds of a portal that transports the viewer into a parallel world, which on the one hand attracts attention with its colors, but at the same time has a disturbing effect due to the stiffness of the scenery as well as the harsh light. The reed, with its color scheme consisting of phthalo blue, chromium oxide green and cadmium yellow, is a recurring character in the artist's works and is particularly familiar from many of her paintings. In contrast to her first diorama, where there were still allusions to existing plants and (partly) organic materials were used, this diorama is completely made of PET, concentrating on the aspect of artificiality of dioramas the artist is interested in, while playing with pop- cultural elements of her favorite sci-fi tv shows.

to bring the aspect of artificially and surrealism even further, the artist added a curved mirror foil as an background for the annually Rundgang of the Kunstakademie in 2024.
the mirror foil is builded as a box around the installation, with a see- through side in the front, which is repeating the formation of the reeds and the water surface, creating the illusion of a non ending space. Not only is the formation repeated, but the image is also distorted in some places. It amplifies the feeling of disorientation while looking on the work while making the scenery look even more surreal.
