Chimera- plant made with organic and non-organic materials, combining eucalyptus cinera, magnolia grandiflora and echinacea paradoxa to a new species.
what is nature anyway?
To be seen is the very first of many chimera- species the artist has created. Finding an futuristic and playful approach to our modern times of anthropocene, gen- manipulation, climate catastrophe and globalization, the artist comments questions of "naturality" and the lack of knowledge of our fellow non-human entities in a world that is irreversible formed and shaped by human kind. asking questions of what might emerge from this new era and what or who will come after us.
This new chimera-specimen is brought together by parts of different plants from all over the world, neglecting any purpose or origin.
The technique that is used to create these plants is part of the practice of diorama-builders, leaving an object that is partly made of non- organic materials, such as PET, and organic materials , such as dried leafs or flowers.
